Their Love Story

“I swiped right and texted her…”

Many people think that love cannot be found online. However, Glenn and Charis has proved the world wrong. One day in 2019, while scrolling on the Tinder app, Glenn came across a beauty. He immediately swiped right (aka matched with Charis) on the online dating app. That decision was the start of their love story.

Glenn and Charis lived in a separate states at the time so they knew consistency was key in building a loving relationship. Anxious to meet, Glenn asked Charis on a date. Their first date was in a small country town. This location was the perfect meeting point between the two. Their first date was at Ruby Tuesday in Lumberton, NC. This date sparked something very special. Who knew that they would be married 3 years later?

“He’s my protector, my teddy bear…”

Over time, Charis and Glenn fell in love with each other. Charis describes Glenn as patient, a protector, a provider and a teddy bear. Glenn makes Charis laugh and he’s willing to take the shirt off his back for her. Charis adores her now husband. Glenn loves Charis’s personality and he feels comfortable around her. Glenn loves the way Charis conducts herself. Glenn and Charis has built a strong and beautiful foundation in their relationship. May their love continue to grow more and more each day.

Their Wedding Day

“The scenery was beautiful…”

It was a bright, sunny, warm day in Fayetteville, NC. I arrived early to the venue, anxious to meet Charis, Glenn, their family and friends. I immediately located the ceremony and reception location. The eye-catching red barn was a sight to see. The scenery was beautiful. There were orange and yellow sunflowers in the reception and ceremony area, brown and white horses, and lighting draped across the brown ceiling in the large red barn. The white tablecloths, candles, golden sparkles and sunflowers in the reception area made everything come to life. In awe of the decor, I immediately began taking photos of the details.

“Their details were wonderfully put together…”

After capturing the reception and ceremony details, I made my way to the house to meet Charis. Charis was such a beautiful bride. We were thrilled to see each other in person for the first time. I introduced myself and asked Charis for the details. I received many items from her including the wedding rings, her perfume, her boots, jewelry and her dress. I also obtained Glenn’s shoes, cologne, bowtie, and socks. Their details were wonderfully put together. I captured these special items in blue elegant room in the house. This blue room housed a large mirror. I knew this mirror would be perfect for the wedding dress.

“These are the most intimate moments of the entire day….”

Next, I captured the getting ready moments. These are the most intimate moments of the entire day. The flower girls and junior bridesmaids were so cute. Charis looked even more beautiful as her makeup artist began to apply her eyeshadow, blush, lashes and lipstick. The groom and groomsmen have a genuine relationship, it was evident in the photos. It wasn’t difficult to capture candid moments of them getting ready. After capturing these images, I was really looking forward to the next moments at the ceremony.

“Charis looked like an angel walking down the aisle with her father…”

The ceremony was so beautiful. The sun was sunsetting at the perfect time. Guest began to trickle in to take their seats. They patiently waited for the arrival of the wedding party and the beautiful bride. The officiant, groom, groomsmen, bridesmaids, flower girls happily walked down the aisle. Then the guests stood in honor of the bride. Charis looked like an angel walking down the aisle with her father. Glenn’s reaction of Charis was priceless. The guests gave the couple their undivided attention, they were in awe. Charis and Glenn exchanged vows. Their vows were extremely sincere. I remember how Charis spoke about Glenn’s daughters. Her words were beautiful. Glenn’s daughter started to tear up as well. Towards the end, they shared a delicate kiss and they jumped the broom. They solidified their marriage and forever love. This was a very joyous ceremony and I was honored to capture the candid moments of Glenn, Charis, the bridesmaids, groomsmen and their guests.

“This moment was filled with an abundance of happiness and satisfaction…”

Family portraits! Capturing these images can be a bit overwhelming but overall it went smoothly. I absolutely enjoyed getting shots of the grins on everyone’s faces. There was something special about this moment of the day. This moment was filled with an abundance of happiness and satisfaction. Charis and Glenn are now one which means that their families are connected forever. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to capture these family formal portraits.

“The lighting from the elongated window made their skin glow….”

Capturing the formal portraits of the bride, bridesmaids, groom, groomsmen and the bride and groom was captivating. The smile on their faces really showed their blissful emotions. Charis specifically wanted her bridal portraits in the blue room of the house. The color of the walls and decorations was a nice addition to the ambience. The lighting from the elongated window made their skin glow. Charis also wanted some photos in front of the eye-catching red barn. I automatically knew I would capture wide angle shots of the newlyweds and the barn. This epic photo is my favorite out of all the portraits. The skyline was a mixture of blue and brown which produced an admiring color. These portraits were my favorite.

“Capturing their candid reactions during the dance was memorizing…”

The reception was also a joyous moment. There were many events that occurred during the reception. The special dances with Glenn and his mom, Charis and her dad and Charis and Glenn was dazzling. I thoroughly enjoyed capturing the candid moments, toasts, singles blessing and Charis’s parents’ surprise anniversary dance. During the singles blessing, Charis and Glenn gave every single individual a flower. They acknowledged that these indviduals are in their single season, they will soon find the mate of their life, like Glenn and Charis did. That moment was breathtaking. The anniversary dance of Charis’s parents was also captivating. They’ve been married for 39 years. Capturing their sincere reactions during their dance was memorizing. The reception images were also great. The expressions on everyone’s face during the dances was priceless.
