Sutonya & Jamario | Mother & Son #LOVED Session

Read more about the backstory of #LOVED, Sutonya and Jamario and their most recent session with Spirit Photography NC

In honor of my daughter, I have created a special session discount for deaf or hard of hearing (HOH) individuals and families.

Here’s a little backstory about Danielle:

Danielle was born healthy but unfortunately contracted bacterial meningitis at 15 months old. She lost her hearing. She’s now 11 and has had cochlear implants for 10 years. Danielle is the only deaf individual in her family. She currently attends a deaf school in North Carolina. She has learned ASL over the past year. My goal is to help her feel loved as much as possible even with her differences.

Sutonya and Jamario are a beautiful family from Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Sutonya was the first person to book a session with me using the hashtag LOVED. I was thrilled to receive the initial email from her via Facebook.

Sutonya is a sweet mother who is deaf and communicates via sign language. Her handsome son ,Jamario, who is autistic absolutely loved the session. He was so sweet and smiled the entire time with his mother. Jamario just graduated and I’m sure he is enjoying spending more time with his mother during the summer months. An interesting part of this session is that my daughter, Danielle who is also deaf but has cochlear implants, was communicating with Sutonya and Jamario using sign language during the session. Danielle was a great assistant and she helped make Sutonya and Jamario even more comfortable during the session. The session took place at the Wilson Botanical Garden in Wilson, North Carolina.

It’s often difficult to find someone to be patient and willing to learn new things with a client who has differences. I want to be the photographer that helps make individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing feel comfortable so I can capture beautiful memorable images. These images will be a keepsake for you, your loved ones and friends. If you would like to book your next session using #LOVED, click the link below.
